ABOUT TEA

Meng Ding Gan Lu | "Sweet Dew" from Meng Ding

Meng Ding, Sichuan, China

A stunning green tea with a long history. In ancient times, it bore the status of an imperial tea, and grows in one of the most ancient places of tea bush cultivation. Today it is an undeservedly forgotten tea that definitely deserves special attention.

This tea is able to surprise even the most sophisticated Chinese tea lover. The amazingly beautiful tea buds and leaves have a delicate, fresh aroma with herbaceous, floral notes. When heated, the floral notes intensify. The infusion turns out to be a little cloudy, this is due to a huge amount of white villi on the kidneys, light green in color. Delicate taste with floral and slightly fruity notes.

This tea is produced only once a year, in the spring. For the production of this tea, only the upper buds are harvested, which makes the tea so tender. The production process of this tea is very time consuming and takes a lot of time and effort. This is a real tea of the highest skill, made entirely by hand by the master and brought to perfection.

Harvest: Spring, 2024

Cultivar: Ming Shan 9

This tea is equally beautiful, both brewed by the Pin Cha method, and infused in a glass or a teapot, as it is done in the homeland of this tea. In the second case, we recommend reducing the amount of tea to ~ 2 g by 100-150 ml. Be sure to try both methods as they reveal this extraordinary tea in different ways.
