Ri Yue Tan "Sun Moon Lake tea"
Yuchi, Nantou, Taiwan
A fine example of gourmet red tea from Taiwan. Thanks to the unique raw materials, this tea has incorporated the aroma of alpine oolongs, as well as the versatility and depth of red tea.
At the first acquaintance, tea has notes of burnt sugar, caramel, and berry jam. When heated, the aroma is transformed in the direction of honey, confectionery nuances. After the tea is washed, notes of dried apples and candied fruit appear. The infusion is sweet, rich, with notes of baked apples, and woody motifs. The aroma of an empty bowl is sweet, sugar, with baked notes of grapes and pomegranate. Tea has a long finish.
