Lao Hong Cha | “Aged red tea”
China
A stunning red tea, aged over 10 years, with a rich mild taste that makes you dive inward.
It has an unusual taste and aroma that make it stand out from other red teas. Due to its solid aging, this tea lacks bitterness and astringency. Each infusion changes, turning into a symphony of taste and aroma. It becomes sweeter and more refreshing with each new pour. There is a very rich, multifaceted taste with notes of sweet and sour bread crust, hazelnut, old red wine, jam, honey, gingerbread, pastille. Infusion of dark amber color. Toward the end, it becomes as if milk-honey.
Harvest: 2010.
