In Tea Masters Cup International tournament held in Enshi city, Hubei province, China, Latvian tea master Andrei Ivanov got the 1st place in the category "Tea Pairing", 2nd place in the category "Tea Tasting" and the 2nd place in the discipline "Tea Peparation".

Andrei scored the highest score that received by any of the participated countries in the history of the competition. He offered the jury a composition called "Shan Shui" ("Mountains and Rivers"), which combined five elements of taste with a balance between sweet, salty, sour, bitter and minds. The winning tea composition consisted of 2008 year sheng pu-erh, decorated with a mandarin slice with a small ginger shavings and a piece of chili poured with honey. The composition was submitted to the jury along with a stone, aromatized with pine oil.

In total, 29 masters from 13 countries participated in the competition. Participants competed in 4 categories - "Tea Preparation", "Tea Pairing", "Tea Tasting" and "Tea Mixology". Performances of the judges were evaluated by judges from all over the world - Denis Shumakov from Russia, Tony Gebely from the USA, He Gee from China, Sharyn Johnston from Australia, Gabriella Lombardi from Italy, and William Lee from South Korea.
